I visited Indian Shores with my family during July 4th week, from out of state, and unfortunately left my daily... contacts at home. I called them, and was able to speak with Jeremy over the phone. He was tremendously helpful and even provided me with a weeks worth of trial contacts for free, and he didn’t have to help. I called and they provided me with a solution all within just a couple of hours (includes calling them, confirming availability, and me driving to their location for pickup). All of the staff was super friendly and helpful upon my arrival. I decided I would even buy a pair of sunglasses from them to show my appreciation for their help! Jeremy even gave me some dinner location recommendations for while I was in the area!! This place has customer service down pat and I would highly recommend to anyone in the area!!!read more

The best in personal eyecare and eyewear anywhere. My husband Peter and I have followed Alisha from the Pinellas group... to SPECS because of her personal specialized care. With two decades of experience behind her, the level of expertise and care she brings to the industry is nothing short of extraordinary.During my last visit she made sure that my driving glasses were designed to make my dashboard easy to read. I see the road and the dash with simultaneous clarity. The eye exam employs new technology without the discomforts of a dilation. The doctor on call is a keen diagnostician who was quick to spot the beginnings of a stye on my husband's eyelid and promptly treated it holistically by way of warm herbal tea application -- saving us from having to fill an expensive ointment. The office is warm and friendly, easy to get to, no waiting-time to speak of, and the exam and the stylish glasses offer significant savings. But that's not all by any means. Alisha has an esthetic eye and a nano tech's passion for precision to the last minutia. She's not satisfied until a fit is perfect and I can tell you, Peter and I feel the difference. Personalized attention at its best.I appreciate the time taken by SPECS to go over my medical history, current... symptoms and perform various testing on my eyes for an up to date assessment/recommendations.I also was very impressed and value the time Angela S. took with me yesterday in selecting a new pair of eyeglass frames. This is a twelve-star review!I have never been a reading glasses wearer - ok, except for drug store cheaters for some... books. My health insurance offered a "use it or lose it" benefit, tho, that I decided to use.I love Oakley and found ultra- lightweight frames with blue-blocking lenses. When I had my annual eye exam, Specs' LDO, Alisha, told me they could put transition lenses in those frames. I wear the glasses every day, just because I love them.Everyone I interacted with was helpful and professional, from the front desk (Sylbreonne) to Dr. Camargo to Alisha.Thank you, Specs, for changing how I feel about glasses!read more

I had something of an eyewear emergency while camping near St. Pete. I live in Connecticut. A critical piece of my... frames broke. My frames are expensive, and I knew getting them repaired was going to be a challenge because they are no longer made in the style and it would take a long time to locate a replacement for the piece that broke. I called then for help, they told me to get their office as soon as I could, and they found an economical solution that not only worked but covered any future breaking problems for a couple of years. Amazing experience. We came in today to get new glasses for my husband. Visiting SPECS was on our errands list and I... certainly was not expecting to have so many laughs. The woman that helped us, I regret I did not get her name, but she was so kind, funny, and detail oriented. She remembered me from a visit I had to get my glasses adjusted over a year ago. She took her time to not only set him up with new glasses, but adjust his existing ones so he could have a well fitting pair until his new ones come in. I am currently pregnant due to deliver any day and she shared today was her birthday and it would be a great date to deliver. As we were getting ready to leave, she handed a me a piece of her own birthday cake. Mind blown. She is the epitome of good customer service. She is an absolute sweetheart and I wish there were more people in this world like her! SPECS you have someone special and all your clients are lucky to helped by her!read more

Wow, what a staff! I had a very scary accident that lead to a pretty good cut to my cornea, and the team didn’t... hesitate to squeeze me in to help. I’m new to the area and hadn’t established a new eye doctor yet, so I was frantically researching and calling all of the doctors and urgent care centers, with no luck. Then Cassandra answered and jumped to get me seen! Before I knew it I was in the office, being helped by all the staff, and quickly seen by Dr. Moustopoulos. She did a thorough exam, spotted the damage, and suggested a unique treatment to speed along the healing. I went back in today and everything is healed up! I know our eyes heal quickly, but I also know that her suggestion of special drops and a contact lens to protect and treat while healing was the extra effort that’s hard to find these days. Plus she, and everyone else, were SO friendly and welcoming. Having a pleasant doctor that listens is also a rare treasure. Solid work to this entire team; The Doc, Cassandra, and Caitlyn in particular. (Sorry if I spelled any names wrong!) All in all, I definitely will be returning to this office moving forward, and I can’t recommend this and/or the Seminole location enough. Top notch staff! 5 stars, easily.read more

I absolutely love this place! This is the first eye doctor I’ve ever been to where every single staff member is... amazing! Dani helped me with my insurance and Angela helped me with my glasses (and she didn’t yell at me for asking too many questions)!! Cassandra was the absolute sweetest even though I had NO appointment, she helped me through the process for easy appointment access for future appointments! I can order contacts through them directly through an app now! Which is really convenient because I order for only 90 days at a time. I also saw Dr. Camargo who was the most professional eye doctor and actually listened to my questions about Lasik eye surgery! And said she could refer me if I ever was interested instead of ignoring me. Love this place!read more

Always have a great experience when I go here - tonight I walked in without an appointment expecting to shuffle through... lenses by myself and within minutes I had Sharon with me helping me pick frames, going through my insurance with me, working overtime to get me sorted. She is knowledgeable, thorough, patient and calm. I am completely comfortable in her care. And then you step out to see her husband, Jeremy, for your glasses. He deserves the highest marks for service. He went above and beyond with a challenging situation for me, even calling after hours. SPECS is just the best place! Family owned and operated with great staff. I had ordered my next 90 days of contacts and... during the short time it took for them to arrive I found out I have cataracts and need to have lens replacements. Needless to say, I would no longer need the contacts I had just ordered. As usual, their customer service was outstanding! Since I hadn't picked up my contacts yet, they graciously agreed to return them to the manufacturer so I wouldn't incur a charge. They also helped me out with some trials to get me to my surgery date in a couple of weeks. An awesome experience and I definitely recommend them for all of your eye care needs.read more

I have been going to see Dr. Camargo for a little over a year. I relocated to St. Pete in 2016, and had been seeing the... same optometrist in Ohio since 2000, so I was nervous to schedule an appointment with a new doctor. I selected Dr. Camargo because of 1) the proximity to my home; 2) the office accepts my insurance; and 3) the outstanding reviews. Upon calling the office, any nerves that I had quickly subsided. I was able to schedule an appointment as a new patient for the following week. My eye exam was thorough, and I truly felt valued as a patient. And Sharon, too!!What a great staff, full of helpful team members who step right up to help. The eye appointment with Dr. Camargo was smooth. She wore this great face shield and mask to make me feel comfortable. The staff wears masks, and they are managing capacity by asking patients and delivery people to call first before entering. Reassuring, for sure. Even the front desk staff was awesome and personable!The highlight of my experience getting my motorcycle-wearing glasses was with Jeremy and Sharon. Jeremy was so helpful and explained everything to me from the start. He ordered specs that they didn’t have in stock for me to try- serious customer service, which I absolutely love and am thankful for!! When those arrived, I came in, tried them on and he helped me order in time to receive for my vacation.When I went to get fitted, Jeremy let me know that the wrong lenses were put in them, and that he already had the new ones on order. I have a high power Rx lens, so finding the right eye doctor is extremely important for me to be able to see well. The... whole team at SPECS is awesome, they are all so patient. They did a great job on my glasses, and I needed last minute contact lenses for astigmatism and they pulled through for me. For years I would drive 2-3 hours to go to my old eye doctor because my Rx is difficult for a lot of places to get right, but now I finally have a local place that does a wonderful job!read more
